My mission of the Carbon County Sheriffs Office is to protect Life and property, uphold the constitution, and serve our community with integrity, fairness, and respect. I am committed to building trust through transparency, proactive engagement, and positive partnership, especially with our youth by promoting safety, responsibility, and opportunity for future generations.

My Mission

Who Am I?

My name is Frankie Lee Vasquez Tapia. I was born and raised in Carbon County, I am a proud student of Sally Mauro Elementary, Helper Junior High, and Carbon High School. After school, I chose to stay right here in Carbon County to raise my family and invest in the community that raised me.

For 16 years, I worked in the gas and mining industry, where I developed strong leadership and management skills. During that time, I had the opportunity to manage operations and oversee mining warehouses across the western United States for Bucyrus and Caterpillar. That experience taught me accountability, organization, and how to lead teams responsibly, skills I carry with me into public service.

For more than 22 years, I have also served our youth as a coach in football, baseball, and both boys' and girls' wrestling. Long before wearing a badge, I was building relationships with young people, pouring into them, mentoring them, and eaming their trust. That trust didn't stop with the youth; over time, it grew to include their parents and families as well.

I firmly believe that strong relationships with our youth are key to changing the future of law enforcement. By building trust early and consistently, we can create safer communities and a stronger understanding between law enforcement and the next generation.

Outside of work and service, I enjoy all things outdoors, including camping, boating, hunting, fishing, and riding the trails with my family. I also believe a sense of humor goes a long way, and because I enjoy a good laugh, the relationships that come with sharing those moments are priceless.
